how does your neighbourhood rate?

Last week I stumbled across this site: Walk Score. Using google maps, it helps you determine the walkability score of your neighbourhood. It's so great for people looking for a new place to live, but I like it because it gave my address a score of 97%!

That's pretty cool and fairly accurate. My current 'hood got a 74 (not bad). My former 'hood got a 88, and I have definitely noticed the difference (and often mourn not living in my old place). The current place isn't too bad though - probably more bars close by than any other business type, but I guess that at least means no drinking & driving for me! I have lived car-free in both of these areas, too (bike/bus/walk as my transport).

kickpleats,
I hope that you will be able to travel soon to Europe :-)... I have been reading both of your blogs now for awhile and have been too lazy or too nervous to post. I check daily for your most current postings. Your lifestyle has reinforced my small endeavors to protect our environment, living in a city that is not particularly environmentally friendly. Thoughts for your mother's recovery....
Keep well,

kickpleats,
I will be a visitor to
Vancouver soon. Would you consider a post suggesting some great things
you'd like your readers to enjoy while in Vancouver? (I was also wondering about a local perspective on affordable, and cool lodging, but that might be just asking too much)oh, did I mention I love your blog and feel we are kindred spirits?
